Award

The Award and the Competition.

The essence of the award provided by our Maecenas is five hundred nominal units in KZT at the USD rate from the National Bank of Kazakhstan on the day of transfer. The money will be transferred monthly to only one winner for each year of our competition.

The registered readers, who must be also citizens of Kazakhstan, will be allowed to give only one vote for what they consider to be the best submitted novel.

It must be noted that the creator of the competition, his employees, family, the Maecenas and his family are not eligible to participate. The winners of previous years also may not enter, but any person may participate any number of times, year after year, as long as they have not yet won.

How much could this annuity be worth? Well, if the author is young and writes a masterpiece at the age of 22 or 23, and there are such examples in world literature, and lives to 80 plus years, then the total amount years could be over 360,000 USD.

This would automatically make this award the fifth largest in the world to date. You can see the detailed list of these prizes at - (here)

So, why is the award made in this format?

The point is that if the amount is too small as a one-off prize, it would not change anything at all in the life of the winner. Also, it would not attract many to participate. However, if the amount of money is huge and one-off, it would scare off many people. Also a large sum, more often than not, destroys a creative person, greatly confusing them and dragging them into extraneous activities and temptations. The amount of 500 USD for Kazakhstan, is just the level of quiet consumption for a normal family and, as we joke, this money is not for the writer but for his wife and children. Thus the author will be free from the need to “work in the sweat of his brow” at an unloved “nursing” job. Therefor the chances grow that over the years our winners will be able to create major works of huge and world-class quality, as it requires much of time and concentration to produce a literary work.

This format of a literary award is the most successful symbiosis of socially responsible business and creative art. We would also recommend this format for awards to all patrons of world literature and to all world big businesses.

In Conclusion

Apart from the examples of Maecenas and Louis XIV, who literally created golden eras for their peoples, we were also inspired by the Polish writer Parandowski and his work on the history of literature “The Alchemy of the Word”, as well as the examples of dozens of other artists, both those who are widely known and those completely unknown.
